Abstract

The preparation of informatics competitions for an intermediate age group of school students that includes 14 and 15 years old children has become more important because of the possible introduction of new kinds of international competitions, like the recent establishment of the regional Balkan Youth Olympiad for students aged up to 15.5 years. Our paper presents the Bulgarian experience of training, where the main tools for teaching are tasks. The paper continues the previous work of the authors \cite{r2}, where beginners group's tasks were arranged and classified according to some chosen set of keywords. The present study examines the tasks given at the Bulgarian national competitions for the intermediate age group during the last eight years. Some features of these tasks are discussed and compared to the tasks of the youngest age group.
